Growing up, I’ve always loved being in the kitchen—cooking, baking, recipe creation, tablescapes, food aesthetics—all of it. I’ve always had a love for creative pursuits, ranging from various styles of painting to drawing to jewelry making, but nothing made me happier than getting to express my creativity in the kitchen.

My love for baking started as a toddler and has only grown more passionate since. I’ve been fortunate enough to have had role models in my mom and grandma to help and encourage me along the way which only served to bolster my love for this particular mode of self-expression. In addition to being an outlet for my creative energy, I love the practicality of expressing myself in the kitchen. There’s an obvious level of practical skill involved in working with food, in that learning to cook/bake is a basic life skill that will continue to serve you. However, to me, learning and getting to continually nurture this lifelong skill, is a privilege.

Beyond possessing a fundamental skill, I love spending my time this way because, on some level, I enjoy doing things for others and one of the easiest and most practical ways I can demonstrate care is by cooking/baking for others. I view food as more than just fuel, but also as nourishment for both body and soul, and it makes me happy to share that with others.

The idea to start A.E. Cookie Co. evolved from my love of getting creative in the kitchen, coupled with a desire to live a life that serves others in a way that’s personally meaningful.

I’ve always said that if I didn't have to worry about money, I would put everything I had into starting my own small chain of non-profit bakeries. While I’m far away from realizing that ambition in its entirety, every idea needs to start somewhere. Hence, the creation of A.E. Cookie Co.

No one person can fix all the problems in the world, but I firmly believe every individual can make a difference. With that in mind, I decided to start small—selling thoughtfully made, high-quality baked goods locally—with the intention of donating any and all profits to worthwhile causes.

A.E. Cookie Co. is a passion project I am very excited about, and selfishly, it makes me feel good to know that in a small way, I’m doing something to promote good in the world. While A.E. Cookie Co. is in its infancy right now, I love what I do, and I hope that, as customers, you will too, and we can grow together on this journey. Your support means everything to me, and I hope this marks the beginning of something great!

Thank you,

- A. E.
